Hijinx is the London based production company of director Mitch Stratten and producer Sally Newsom.
Mitch’s film-making centres on strong feeling. His work ranges from free-flow spontaneity to high-end technical feats, like his fourth dimensional 'Timesculpture' idea, made into a commercial for Toshiba through Grey London - almost every part of the production process was reinvented. 'Timesculpture' generated Toshiba's highest sales in 25 years, broke a Guinness World Record and won over 10 international awards. It also made an impact on the worlds of art and science and showed the world something they have never seen before.
Mitch has a background in art, design and music production. This gives him an in-depth and unique understanding of the 'shoot vs post' process. He has design work in the permanent collection at The Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt and his first full-length album, well-received by critics, was released on Sub Rosa Records. Mitch went on to direct the film 'Oh Diamond' to accompany two of the tracks. He also designed and engineered the featured animatronic creature. 'Oh Diamond' spread quickly, from mega blog Boing-Boing to an article in Dazed and Confused. Another recent project was 'Bang Chong', an independent skateboard documentary Mitch made with his childhood friends, distributed globally through VAS Entertainment.
Sally has a background in both vision and sound, which includes 7 years at top London production companies. They began working together at international production powerhouse Hungry Man. Hijinx was founded on their shared enthusiasm for process and innovation. Together they’ve collaborated with clients and advertising agencies worldwide.
